With a solid academic foundation, having earned an honours degree in History from the University of Surrey in 2000, Helen embarked on a journey in education that eventually led her to a pivotal focus on pastoral care and safeguarding.
Having taught in schools across Cambridgeshire, including a notable tenure as Head of Philosophy and Ethics, Helen spent a decade in the classroom honing her pedagogical skills and nurturing young minds. However, it was her unwavering dedication to student welfare that prompted her to shift her career trajectory towards pastoral care.
For the past 14 years, Helen has been a trailblazer in the field of pastoral care and safeguarding, advocating tirelessly for the well-being of students under her care. Her leadership in these areas, coupled with her extensive experience in the international boarding environment since 2016, uniquely positions her to make a profound impact at St. Andrew’s College Cambridge.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Helen finds solace and rejuvenation in her roles as a wife and mother. With a young daughter, family time is cherished, and Helen treasures every moment spent with her loved ones. When not immersed in her professional responsibilities or family life, Helen can be found cultivating tranquility in her vegetable garden or finding inner peace through the practice of yoga.
