One year GCSE

St Andrew’s offers students a one-year GCSE course as an alternative to the traditional two-year GCSE course.  A fast-track route to A-levels, students at St Andrew’s take six GCSEs starting either in September or January of each year.

GCSE English and GCSE Maths are compulsory with students taking three subjects of their choice from the following:

  • GCSE Art & Design
  • GCSE Biology
  • GCSE Business Studies
  • GCSE Chemistry
  • GCSE Computer Science
  • GCSE Economics
  • GCSE Geography
  • GCSE Physics
  • GCSE Photography
  • GCSE Physical Education
  • Level 1 Certificate in Latin
  • Level 1 Certificate in Music
  • Native Language (if available)

All students are given daily tutor sessions plus four hours of maths and 12 hours of English each week including English for Academic Purposes.
