We encourage all our students to attend university open days, normally held in the summer term of the first year of A-Levels or the autumn term of year two. Visiting the university in person and having a tour to see the facilities, visit individual departments, listen to lectures from university staff, discuss research projects, see the halls of residence and talk to other applicants is invaluable in helping students shortlist their five choices. Some universities also offer the experience online however attending in person is strongly encouraged.
In addition, our students also are fortunate to be able to attend the public lectures given by Cambridge University which are held regularly on a wide range of topics. The standard of these lectures is of course excellent as they are given by university professors or PhD students who are undertaking research projects locally.
